Semi-detached single-family house – Optimisation in a constrained zone in Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, we are managing the construction of a semi-detached single-family house located on a narrow, adjoining plot. Although modest in size, this project required extensive study time in order to reconcile technical, regulatory and architectural constraints.

Particular attention was paid to the shoring against the neighbouring building, with the implementation of innovative solutions to ensure the stability of the existing structure while preserving the buildable area as much as possible.

Another major challenge: the integration of a heat pump entirely indoors, as the municipality does not allow any outdoor units. This challenge was met through a bespoke design of the technical spaces and an in-depth study of the energy needs of the house.

Finally, specific construction details were developed to guarantee the quality of the party-wall connections, both structurally and in terms of waterproofing.
